Local History Online - April 2011

April saw 1,633 records in 23 record series added to the Historical and Genealogical Index database. Indexing of County birth registers once again led the count, with 618 records created.

The work of creating records for materials contained in the Museum of the Grand Prairie's Doris K. Wylie Hoskins Archive of Cultural Diversity was begun this month. Over 670 files, pertaining to African American genealogy and history in East Central Illinois, are contained in this rich collection.
