Airmen Tries New Way of Flying at Chanute

For 45 minutes, Private Harold R. Osborne, a student of the Air Corps Technical School, Chanute Field, dangled in mid-air, his parachute caught on the stabilizer of the plane from which he had jumped. Helpless to free himself from his parachute or the plane, Osborne remained entangled until a knife was lowered to him. (News-Gazette , 5 June 1931)
