The Champaign County Historical Archives is pleased to announce our new PhotoAtlas web service. PhotoAtlas is an application that allows us to place our audio-visual files, along with their index records, on modern mapping software. This provides a rich geospatial context to the records of our local communities previously unavailable to us. We've started with a tour of historic downtown Urbana, and plan to add more tours with more multimedia files (including sound files, such as oral histories) in the very near future.
